Martha Lane has her future mapped out. She’s acing college and on her way to earning a degree in women’s studies. But the abuse she endured as a child from her religious grandparents is chipping at her insides. Her parents don’t know the horrific story, and Martha needs to tell someone everything before it breaks her.

Ian Berkley works with Martha three days a week at a craft store. He’s an adoptee from Korea, who was raised in a Christian home. Martha is snarky and defensive and makes it clear she wants nothing to do with his religion. But, over time, she starts to trust Ian. And God. As her faith blossoms, his baggage from his adoption and his parents’ divorce is morphing into something he’s not sure he can handle.

The Quiet Edge of Memory is a love story of two loners who look beyond their differences to help each other navigate a wasteland of memories. As they cross over every haunting moment, Martha and Ian must reconcile speaking some painful truths and sustaining family bonds that are fraying under their grip.
